I really don't want to work on my art project anymore.
I'm a lazy ass, I'll admit it. I've got 2 (and 1/2 technically) out of 4 done and it's just the last thing I want to be doing. Its not like I have anything personal against the project, or the class for that matter (I've got the awesome
The Nintendork. Her real name eludes both Jacquie and myself, but from the first day of school that is how she introduced herself. From her outward appearance, she looks like your typical cliche nerd. Messy hair, glasses, random t-shirt and jeans that were probably just pulled from the laundry hamper. Not unlike my own lazy ass appearance. At first I thought, who knows maybe she'll be another cool person to talk shop with, but boy was I wrong. Was I ever wrong. The first day of class we had to do "introductions" tell everyone about ourselves and that jazz. My own introduction was nothing special (although it gained me a stalker who wants me to "save Batman" with her). The Nintendork, however, introduced herself as well a "nintendork". I don't recall her ever giving her real name. After school, Jacquie and I had a bit of a laugh over that as it was kinda funny. But wait there's more...
I wish I could say she was just some girl who was overly obsessed with Nintendo, but if that were the case it wouldn't be featured in a blog now would it? The first instance of the girl behind the Dork was her attitude towards Jacquie. One day, during lab, she walked by and looked at Jacquie's project. Now for anyone who's ever seen Jacquie's work will know that she's pretty much badass with Prismacolor pencils. She makes them her bitch, always has always will. So the Dork says "I could never draw anything that well" which on the computer may sound like a compliment but it was her tone that made it more of a stab. She quickly followed with a sharp "take that as a compliment!" As if that wasn't weird enough, afterward she goes to the pencil sharper and it eats her pencil and she freaks out. Like completely haywire over the number 2 pencil!
Soon it was time for presentations of our projects, and it goes how presentations go. Go up, talk about your work, people tell you what they like what they'd like to see more of. Same old same old. After Jacquie presents, Nintendork yelps she'll go next, but that its not fair that she had to follow Jacquie. No one forced her to go after Jacquie, she could have waited for someone to go, I can understand being a little intimidated but if she really didn't want to feel like she was being "judged" she should've waited. I don't understand what her deal is at all.
For this current project (the one I'm currently procrastinating on), we have to due textures. No big deal right? Pull up some reference materials, churn out some art works. So mind numbing that I hate working on it. Well I guess Nintendork asked Teacher if she could draw a dragon. Teacher says she'd rather her draw something that exists that she can get a reference from life for. She has a fit, and Teacher babies her and tells her she can do the dragon. Nintendork than says "No now you don't get a pretty dragon!". I laughed typing that last part.
I don't know what her deal is, but its going to be a looonnngg semester if this keeps up. At least its amusing, right?
